Karachi: During the 3-day business week after the Eid al-Fitr holidays, there was an increase in the value of foreign currency, with the dollar becoming 37 paisas more expensive.
According to details, during the 3-day period after the end of the Eid al-Fitr holidays, the dollar became 37 paisas more expensive in interbank trading.
From 26 to 28 April 2023 (Wednesday to Friday), the dollar increased from PKR 283.47 to PKR 283.84 in interbank trading.
During the week, the open market saw the dollar become PKR 2 cheaper, reaching PKR 290.
During this period, the euro became PKR 2 more expensive, reaching PKR 317, the British pound increased by PKR 1.50 to reach PKR 360, the Emirati dirham decreased by 5 paisas to reach PKR 79.20, and the Saudi riyal increased by 15 paisas to reach PKR 76.60.
On the other hand, the State Bank of Pakistan has announced that its reserves have increased by $3 billion.
The State Bank’s exchange reserves increased from $4.43 billion to $4.46 billion. Commercial banks’ reserves increased by $300 million to reach $5.56 billion.
