The Election Commission has announced the date for the election of Mayor and Deputy Mayor in Sindh.
According to the spokesperson, the election for Mayor, Deputy Mayor, Chairman, and Vice Chairman of the council in Sindh will take place on June 15. Candidates will submit their papers from June 9 to 10.
According to the schedule issued by the Election Commission, Returning Officers will scrutinize the papers on June 11, while the final list of candidates will be announced on June 14. The election results will be declared on June 16, after which successful candidates will take the oath on June 19.
Furthermore, the Election Commission has stated that today is the last day to submit papers for specific seats in the councils of Sindh. According to the spokesperson, the deadline for the submission of nomination papers has been extended until 12 AM, and political parties can also submit their preferred lists of candidates until midnight.
According to the Election Commission, an independent candidate can join any political party until May 24, and in this regard, the independent candidate must also submit an affidavit. The independent candidate must clarify that they are not under any pressure and must make it clear that they are joining the political party voluntarily. The independent candidate must submit a verified affidavit to the Election Commission.
