Pakistan and China express confidence in the progress of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and announced to further strengthen their relations. During a joint press conference with his Chinese counterpart Chen Gang, Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that the strategic partnership between China and Pakistan is crucial and during the talks, important deals were discussed with the Chinese counterpart. CPEC is an important project between the two countries and Pakistan is committed to its high-quality development.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that mutual interest and trade are important relationships between the countries. It has been agreed during the talks that both countries will strengthen their strategic partnerships. Both countries agree on a peaceful Afghanistan. China has unconditionally supported Pakistan on every global forum, and Pakistan supports China’s policies, including Hong Kong.
Chinese Foreign Minister Chen Gang
In a joint press conference, Chinese Foreign Minister Chen Gang said that this is my first visit to Pakistan and I am grateful for the excellent hospitality. I have had strategic dialogue with the Foreign Minister of Pakistan and discussed bilateral cooperation and cultural exchanges. Pakistan and China will share a new future together as a community.
Chen Gang said that Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif’s visit to China was very important and its positive outcomes are visible. Both countries need to strengthen their relations in all areas.
He said that they are in agreement on the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and want cooperation in industries, energy, and agriculture. Chinese companies are investing in various sectors, and China appreciates Pakistan’s role in the fight against terrorism. Pakistan will achieve definite success in the fight against terrorism.
He mentioned that attention will be given to the sectors affected by the pandemic, and commercial flights and bus services will resume. Pakistan-China relations are very strong, and steps will be taken for cultural exchanges. Pakistan and China are celebrating the 10th anniversary of CPEC.
Chen Gang said that cooperation is increasing in all sectors to make CPEC more beneficial. Dialogue and cooperation will continue between the two countries, and the three-party talks during the Pakistan visit are an important task. Pakistan participated in the neighboring country’s summit last month.
