Lahore: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has decided to continue negotiations with the government.
According to sources, an important meeting was held under the chairmanship of PTI Chairman Imran Khan at Zaman Park in Lahore, which was attended by members of the PTI negotiating committee, Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Fawad Chaudhry, and Barrister Ali Zafar.
According to sources, all three leaders briefed the meeting on the progress of the two meetings with the government.
According to sources, after the police raid on Pervez Elahi’s house, there was a difference of opinion within PTI about continuing negotiations with the government. Most of the members of the negotiating committee believed that despite the arrests and raids, negotiations should continue as these were conspiracies to sabotage the negotiations.
According to sources, all three leaders included in the negotiating committee still believed in the right to continue negotiations. They said that we should not step back from negotiations and if we do, the government will be given a license to do so.
At the meeting chaired by Imran Khan, senior leaders also opposed negotiations until the environment improved, saying that the raid on Pervez Elahi’s house showed that politicians who negotiate are weak.
The meeting also discussed the point that the issue at hand is not September or July but paying the budget. Asad Umar wants to present a budget that is contrary to discussions with international financial institutions. Such a budget will create problems for the incoming government.
