Fakhar Zaman, the aggressive opener of the Pakistan cricket team, has been nominated for a prestigious award for his outstanding performance, including three consecutive centuries in One Day Internationals. The International Cricket Council (ICC) has nominated him for the Player of the Month award.
According to ARY News, Fakhar Zaman has recently scored three consecutive centuries in One Day Internationals, and his exceptional performance has also helped the national team secure a victory in a One Day series against New Zealand after 12 years.
The International Cricket Council has recognized Fakhar Zaman’s outstanding performance by nominating him for the ICC Player of the Month award.
The ICC has announced the nominations for April, which also include Sri Lanka’s Praveen Jayawickrama and New Zealand’s Mark Chapman alongside Fakhar Zaman.
If Fakhar Zaman wins this award, he will be honored as the Player of the Month for the first time.
It should be noted that Fakhar Zaman is the fourth Pakistani batsman to score three consecutive centuries in One Day matches. Before him, captains Babar Azam, Saeed Anwar, and Zaheer Abbas have also achieved this feat in One Day matches.
Fakhar Zaman made his debut against South Africa in a One Day match in 2017. He has so far played 68 One Day matches, scoring 3029 runs at an average of 48.55, including 10 centuries and 15 half-centuries.
In the second match of the ongoing series against New Zealand, the national opener became the second-fastest batsman in the world to reach 3000 runs in One Day matches.
