South Korean footballer Son Jun Ho has been arrested in China on allegations of match-fixing.
According to reports from international media, the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs has confirmed the arrest of South Korean footballer Son Jun Ho on charges of corruption and match-fixing.
In a statement issued by the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it was stated that the 31-year-old footballer, who participated in the Chinese League, was arrested at Shanghai Airport and is currently in the custody of the Chinese police.
On the other hand, the South Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs has not commented on the arrest of their player, but they have said that their priority is to provide consular support to Son Jun Ho.
It is clear that during the past few months, besides the South Korean footballer, four officials of the Football Association of China have also been detained on charges of irregularities by the Chinese authorities.
In addition, the president of the Chinese Football Association was also placed under custody on allegations of violating rules and regulations.
