Former federal minister Fawad Chaudhry has announced his resignation from the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf. Following the violent events, protests, and attacks on sensitive installations on May 9, strong actions are being taken against the perpetrators on one side, while on the other side, PTI leaders continue to condemn the attacks and a series of resignations from the party and politics. After Sherine Mazari and Aamir Kiyani, Fawad Chaudhry has also distanced himself from the PTI. He announced his separation from the PTI and Imran Khan through a message on Twitter. In the tweet, Fawad Chaudhry wrote that he is quitting politics. Fawad Chaudhry is a senior leader of the PTI and has also fulfilled the responsibilities of the party’s vice president. Previously, Saema Nadeem, former member of the National Assembly of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, also announced her departure from the party. She said that she is saddened by the events of May 9 and these events are condemnable. I can never listen to false statements about my forces. Yesterday, Saema Nadeem was traveling on a foreign airline flight AK503 to the city of Toronto, Canada. Saema Nadeem was not allowed to proceed until the flight took off, and after the flight departed, the police took her into custody.
