According to details, last night a fire broke out near Sukkur in the bogie of Karachi Express en route to Lahore. In the incident, 2 people, including a woman, lost their lives, and 4 children went missing. However, the DC Railway has said that two children from one family were missing, who were later found from bogie number 18.

DC Railway Mohsin Siyal informed that a woman who was injured after falling off the train died in the hospital, while the burnt body found from the affected bogie is being identified. He further said that it will only be clear after a complete investigation of the bogie whether more casualties have occurred or not.

According to sources, the fire in the train bogie was caused by a short circuit between Tando Masti and Khairpur, which caused the passengers to panic and jump off the moving train.

After the incident of the fire, trains going inside the country were stopped at various stations, but the up and down tracks of the train have now been restored, and all trains have resumed their journey towards their destination.
