Karachi: The national airline has completed preparations for the Hajj Operation 2023, according to sources.
According to sources, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) will conduct the Hajj Operation through Boeing 777 aircraft and Airbus A320s. Through 315 special Hajj and scheduled flights, it will facilitate the transportation of 65,000 pilgrims.
PIA will commence the Hajj Operation on May 21, which will continue until June 22. The return of the pilgrims will begin on July 2, and the operation will continue until August 2.
As per sources, PIA’s first Hajj flight, PK-773, will depart from Karachi to Medina on May 21. PK-741 will depart from Islamabad, carrying more than 300 pilgrims, to Jeddah.
Flights will operate from Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Sialkot, Faisalabad, Peshawar, Rahim Yar Khan, and Quetta. The schedule of Hajj flights has been submitted to the Ministry of Religious Affairs and the General Authority of Saudi Arabia for approval.
