Islamabad: IMF Mission Chief, Nihal Porter, has welcomed the recent announcement of financial assistance to Pakistan by friendly countries, stating that the IMF is looking to obtain necessary financial assurances as soon as possible.
According to details, Nihal Porter, the IMF Mission Chief, welcomed the recent announcement of financial assistance to Pakistan from friendly countries in his statement.
Porter stated that in meetings with the Pakistani delegation and IMF staff, an agreement was reached on obtaining willing financial assistance for policy implementation and income generation, including maintaining strong policies.
The IMF mission stated that it supports the efforts of the Pakistani government and is looking to obtain necessary financial assurances as soon as possible.
It should be noted that the United Arab Emirates confirmed a billion-dollar loan to Pakistan the day before. In his statement on social media site Twitter, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar stated that the UAE has also confirmed with the IMF to provide a billion-dollar loan to Pakistan, and that the State Bank of Pakistan is busy completing the necessary documents to obtain the mentioned amount from the UAE.
Prior to this, Saudi Arabia had confirmed with the IMF last week that it will provide Pakistan with a loan of two billion dollars.
