“We will win the local elections and make Karachi the mayor,” said Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman, the Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi, adding that they will achieve success in the upcoming local elections in Karachi on May 7th and also make the mayor.
Speaking to ARY News, Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman said that there is less turn out in the by-elections, but they have worked hard and hope to succeed in all seats, Inshallah.
He said that the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) is using the government machinery to win the election, but whichever party succeeds, the chances of its mayor coming to power will increase. Karachi will, Inshallah, belong to the Jamaat-e-Islami.
He stated that it is now evident that the results can be changed by whatever means the officials have employed. PPP has not done anything in Karachi for 15 years, but they have started working as soon as the elections are approaching.
In a statement yesterday, Hafiz Naeem urged people to come out of their homes in large numbers, like on January 15th, to vote for Jamaat-e-Islami’s election symbol. The elections for 11 vacant seats are of great importance, and the decision of the mayor of Karachi will be made by the by-elections. Citizens should vote in such large numbers that the PPP cannot manipulate the election.
