Lahore: Lahore High Court has given a deadline until tomorrow to Punjab Inspector General (IG) for the recovery of journalist Imran Riaz, stating that a report should be presented at 10 o’clock.
According to the details, a hearing was held in Lahore High Court on the request for the recovery of journalist Imran Riaz, and the Chief Justice of the High Court heard the request of Imran Riaz’s father.
The Punjab IG submitted a report to the court regarding the recovery and stated that sensitive institutions’ personnel have been included in the committee, the committee has held meetings, and assistance has been sought from more than 50 CCTV cameras, while contact has been made with the Ministry of Interior and Ministry of Defense.
The Punjab IG stated that efforts are being made, including modern techniques like geo-fencing, and I need more time for the recovery of Imran Riaz.
To this, the Chief Justice remarked, meaning you are helpless, it has been four or five days and no development has been seen.
The Punjab IG said that it becomes difficult to find someone who is hiding himself, permission has to be obtained from the relevant authority for going to other provinces for investigation, and I have written letters to the concerned authority for that purpose.
The court directed the Punjab IG, giving a deadline until tomorrow for the recovery of Imran Riaz, to submit a report in court at 10 o’clock.
