Jhelum: Imtiaz Baig, a private TV representative, was killed in a violent attack by unknown persons who attacked him with sticks and fled the scene.
According to details, in Jhelum, unknown persons attacked Imtiaz Baig, a representative of a private TV channel, and he died as a result of the attack.
Police confirmed that Imtiaz Baig, a reporter for Samaa TV, was killed. Unknown persons attacked him with sticks when he came out of a local mosque after performing prayers.
Police said that after attacking the TV reporter, the assailants fled the scene.
Local media reports stated that the body of the senior journalist was transferred to the district hospital and the police authorities started an investigation to find out the motives behind the attack.
It should be noted that in October 2021, a journalist lost his life in a militant attack in Hub city, a bordering town of Karachi in the province of Balochistan.
In Hub, unknown persons threw a hand grenade at a car, injuring two people including a local television journalist. Later, he was shifted to a local hospital in Karachi for medical assistance but succumbed to his injuries. The deceased was identified as Shahid Zehri.
