The Inspector General (IG) of Sindh, Ghulam Nabi Memon, has ordered a strict crackdown against corrupt DSPs (Deputy Superintendents of Police) and SHOs (Station House Officers) involved in the facilitation of drug dealers. According to ARY News, a video link conference was held under the chairmanship of the IG Sindh, in which top police officials of the department participated. The meeting reviewed the performance of the Task Force against narcotics, gutka, and mawa.
The IG Sindh directed the relevant authorities to ensure that the Task Force takes swift action against the drug mafia, gutka, and mawa, and ensures their eradication. He also ordered a crackdown against corrupt officers and officials involved in the facilitation of drug dealers and gutka and mawa sellers. Ghulam Nabi Memon said that the concerned DIGs (Deputy Inspectors General) should take strict action against those officers and officials who are involved in the facilitation of drug dealers and mafia, and ensure the eradication of drug dealers, gutka, and mawa.
The IG Sindh also directed that a reward list should be prepared and sent for officers and officials who have performed well. The Additional IG (AIG) also informed that a crackdown against major dealers and factories of drugs, gutka, and mawa is currently underway.
