The Ministry of Defense has requested to hold simultaneous elections throughout the country.
According to News, the Ministry of Defense has submitted a request to the Supreme Court, requesting that elections be held simultaneously throughout the country.
Reportedly, the Ministry of Defense made this request while seeking to reverse the Supreme Court’s decision of April 4th, which ordered that elections be held simultaneously throughout the country.
It is worth noting that today, senior officials from intelligence agencies had briefed the three-member bench hearing the election case in the Supreme Court, in the Chief Justice’s chamber.
During the briefing, Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial, Justice Ejaz-ul-Hasan, and Justice Muneeb Akhtar were present.
It was reported that the meeting between intelligence officials and judges in the Chief Justice’s chamber lasted for more than an hour and a half, and the Defense Secretary was also present.
It should be remembered that a three-member bench led by Chief Justice Muneeb Akhtar and including Justice Ejaz-ul-Hasan declared the decision of the Election Commission of Pakistan to postpone the Punjab Assembly elections on May 14th as “unconstitutional” on April 4th and ordered that the elections be held on May 14th in Punjab.
