Islamabad: Federal Minister for Inter-Provincial Coordination Ehsan ul Haq Mazzari has said that Najam Sethi was not appointed to the cricket board with the approval of the Pakistan People’s Party, as our own person should have been appointed to the board.
Speaking to ARY News in an interview, Ehsan Mazzari said that it had been decided that the ministry that belonged to a particular party would have the authority to make appointments, so if the Ministry of Sports is with us, then our own person should have been appointed to the PCB.
The federal minister said, “Najam Sethi was not appointed to the cricket board with the approval of the Pakistan People’s Party. There have been complaints that bogus clubs have been created in 2 regions and voting rights have been given.”
He said that a letter has been sent to the PCB regarding the complaints and details of financial transactions and appointments have been requested from the committee. He said that it has been asked in the letter who has been removed and who has been kept in the last 4 months.
Ehsan ul Haq Mazzari said, “The inquiry process of this matter has been initiated and the letter has been written for this purpose.”
Regarding the general elections, the federal minister said, “I do not think that the general elections will be held on time. As a worker of the PPP, I believe that the elections will be held later.”
He said that what is in the constitution will be followed and there will be nothing unconstitutional.
