Former Pakistan cricket captain Shahid Khan Afridi has congratulated the Afghanistan cricket team on winning the match against Scotland.

According to details, former captain of Pakistan cricket team Shahid Khan Afridi said in a statement released on the social networking website Twitter that Afghanistan’s performance in the match against Scotland was excellent.

He said that Afghanistan cricket team has quality batsmen and world class spinners, this team will prove to be very tough for big teams in this World Cup.

It should be noted that in the Super 12 stage of ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021, Afghanistan defeated Scotland by a huge margin of 130 runs and secured the first position in the points table.

Afghanistan won the toss and elected to bat first in the match played at Sharjah Cricket Ground. Hazratullah Zazai and Mohammad Shehzad gave their team a smoky start and laid the foundation for a big score. Zazai scored 44 off 30 balls. Shehzad played an innings of 22 off 15 balls.

Rehmanullah Garbaz contributed 46 runs to the team’s score while Najibullah Zadran played a lightning fast innings of 59 runs and Mohammad Nabi scored 11 runs.

Afghanistan hit a total of 11 sixes in the innings.

For Scotland, Safyan Sharif was the leading bowler with 33 runs for the loss of two wickets.

In pursuit of the goal, the magic of Afghanistan’s spin attack worked which prevented one of the Scottish batsmen from running.

Mujeeb-ur-Rehman took 5 wickets for 20 runs while Rashid Khan at the other end took 4 wickets and played an important role in the team’s victory.

For Scotland, George Mance stood out with 25 runs while no other player was able to perform well.

With this victory, with two important points and a heavy run rate, the Afghan team has come to the first position in Group 2 of Super 12.

It should be noted that the Pakistan team that beat India yesterday is in second place due to its relatively low run rate.
