Provincial Health Minister Dr Asman Rashid has said that the Punjab government has extended the term of its personal business loans for doctors.
According to details, the 29th meeting of the Board of Directors of Punjab Health Foundation was held under the chairmanship of Provincial Minister for Health Dr Asman Rashid at the Department of Specialized Health Care and Medical Education.
During the meeting, the limit of loans of doctors in two different schemes was increased from Rs. 7 lakh to Rs. 10 lakh and from Rs. 25 lakh to Rs. 35 lakh while a committee was constituted to change various laws during the meeting.
MD Punjab Health Foundation Dr. Karan Khurshid briefed the Provincial Health Minister on the agenda of the meeting.
Expressing his views in the meeting, Dr. Asman Rashid, Provincial Minister for Health said that the main objective of Punjab Health Foundation is to create immense employment opportunities for unemployed doctors.
The provincial health minister said that new schemes should be worked out to create more facilities for doctors while facilities should be created for blood banks and medical labs and more opportunities should be created in various sectors of health.
Dr. Rashid also said that doctors have been issued interest free loans through Punjab Health Foundation during the last two years. Now doctors can run their business without any hesitation by taking interest free loans from Punjab Health Foundation.
The provincial health minister said that as per the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan, maximum employment opportunities are being created for doctors while Punjab Health Foundation has been directed to create facilities for more and more doctors.
Dr. Rashid said that steps were being taken to make the Punjab Health Foundation more profitable for doctors while the Health Department had recruited the first bar doctors on record merit.
Provincial Health Minister Dr Rashid further said that the Punjab government has extended the term of its personal business loans for doctors, adding that the increase in the amount of loans would be of great benefit to the doctors.
The meeting was attended by Health Secretary Bristenbel Awan, Special Secretary Salut Saeed, Managing Director Punjab Health Foundation Dr Karan Khurshid, Zahidur Rehman Batha and other Board of Directors.
