Dr. Shahbaz Gill, Special Assistant to PM Imran Khan for Political Relations, said that the Election Commission should take action after the video of Yousuf Raza Gilani’s son buying votes came to light.
Shahbaz Gill tweeted on social networking site Twitter that Gilani had no moral justification to contest the election.
He said that they should immediately withdraw from the election, a family of thieves who specialize in stealing from adults to children.
It may be recalled that a video of the son of Yousuf Raza Gilani, the joint candidate of Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) in the Senate elections, has come to light.
In the video, it can be seen that Yousuf Raza Gilani’s son Ali Musa Gilani is talking about buying votes from PTI MPA.
In the video, Ali Musa Gilani tells a PTI MP how to lose a vote.
It is to be noted that in order to curb buying and selling in the Senate elections, the government had enacted a Presidential Ordinance on Open Balling which was challenged in the Supreme Court.
A day earlier, the Supreme Court of Pakistan had ruled in the case that the Senate voting would remain secret while steps towards the future were necessary for which instructions have been issued to the Election Commission.
