LAHORE: A woman was gang-raped in front of children on the road in Gujjarpura city of Punjab province.
According to reports, a woman ran out of petrol on her road in Gujjarpura, Lahore, Punjab.
The victim called the motorway police on the advice of a relative and was told by the motorway police that the area does not come under BAT. Before the relatives arrived, two persons raped the woman. The accused paid Rs. Two gold rings, a bracelet and three ATM cards were also looted and fled.
According to the text of the FIR, the woman came from Kacha area alone with her children and reached Lahore with her family. The woman’s relatives registered a case of gang rape and robbery at Gujjarpura police station.
Gujjarpura police said that a case has been registered in the complaint of the woman’s relative. The search for the accused has been started with the help of Safe City cameras. The accused will soon be in the custody of the law.
Later, Punjab Chief Minister Usman Bazdar took notice of the incident and demanded a report from IG Punjab. Usman Bazdar said that the culprits involved in the serious crime should be arrested as soon as possible and justice would be provided to the victim.
It should be noted that a similar incident had taken place within the limits of Gujjarpura police station two months ago. Five persons had allegedly gang-raped a woman.
