Renowned Indian cricket batsman Virat Kohli has slashed compensation for the wider interest of his franchise.
Royal Challengers Bangalore has announced a dramatic reduction in Virat Kohli’s compensation for the IPL season 2022. According to Indian player Parthiv Patel, Virat Kohli has happily accepted the announcement of reduction in compensation.
Former Indian wicketkeeper Parthiv Patel said that in the current Test and ODI cricket, the captain of the Indian team has made this decision in the wider interest of the franchise.
It is to be noted that Virat Kohli is one of the players who has been booked by IPL franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 2022 IPL season.
According to the salary cap of the IPL, the Indian captain will be paid Rs 150 million, which is much less than last season. Apart from Virat Kohli, Royal Challengers Bangalore has booked Australian players Glenn Maxwell and Mohammad Siraj in advance for next season. Glenn Maxwell will be paid Rs 110 million while Muhammad Siraj will be paid Rs 70 million.
According to Parthiv Patel, the reduction in compensation is aimed at buying better players in the auction.
