International Women’s Day is being celebrated all over the world including Pakistan.
The United Nations decided to celebrate March 8, 1656, as International Women’s Day, with the aim of paying tribute to the social, political and economic struggle of women.
Women’s Day was celebrated by the Socialist Party in the United States on February 28, 1909, followed by an international conference on women in 1910 recommending that the day be observed annually. At the conference, 100 women from 17 countries unanimously adopted the idea.
It was first observed in 1911 in Austria, Denmark, Germany and Switzerland.
It should be noted that every year on the 8th of March, International Women’s Day is celebrated in which it is pledged that the struggle for more freedom and rights of women will be continued while protecting their freedoms.
This year too, various organizations working for women’s rights besides Lahore, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Multan, Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Quetta and Peshawar in major and important cities of the country on the occasion of International Women’s Day on March 8. Has announced to hold ‘Women’s March’.
On the other hand, on the occasion of International Women’s Day, important events and seminars will be organized all over the world including Pakistan in which the speakers will shed light on important issues related to women’s rights.
