Saudi Arabia has tightened travel restrictions on overseas travelers to prevent the spread of a new variant of the corona virus, Omecron.
According to the International News Agency, vaccination and negative PCR or rapid test have been made mandatory for entry into Saudi Arabia and this test must be done within 48 hours of departure to Saudi Arabia.
Guidelines issued by Saudi Aviation state that children under the age of 8 will be exempt from vaccination and testing restrictions.
Similarly, booster diet has been made mandatory for passengers wishing to depart from Saudi Arabia and the condition of booster has been implemented for a maximum of 3 months.
A statement from Saudi Aviation said the travel ban would take effect on Wednesday, February 9, and that violators would be blacklisted and other legal action would be taken against them.
It should be noted that the Saudi Ministry of Interior has announced a fine of up to one thousand riyals for violating the ban on wearing masks, however, those who repeatedly violate it can be fined up to one hundred thousand riyals.
