Prime Minister Imran Khan expresses grief over the death of Tariq Aziz

Today in Lahore passed Tariq Aziz, the legendary television anchor and host of the popular television show Neelam Ghar,. Aziz was 85 years old, and was admitted last night to a private hospital after becoming seriously ill. The cause of his death is still unknown however.

Many have gone on social media in the wake of his death to pay their respects to the late TV personality. Prime Minister Imran Khan among them went on to call Aziz a “pioneer.” “It’s saddened to hear of Tariq Aziz ‘s death, an star of his day and a pioneer in our TV game shows. My condolences and prayers go to his relatives,’ he said.

President Arif Alvi also regretted Aziz ‘s loss in a separate speech, Associated Press Pakistan (APP) said.

President Alvi called Tariq Aziz “his field institution.” The President extended condolences to Tariq Aziz ‘s relatives and prayed to rest in peace for the departed soul.

In addition, Azad Kashmir prime minister Raja Farooq Haider also took the opportunity to congratulate Aziz for his contributions to the film industry.

“Tariq Aziz was a well-known host, announcer and an extraorinary character,” said PM Haider. “Neelam Ghar was the most successful program for Tariq Aziz, Raja Farooq Haider May Allah exalts its ranks and gives the family and fans patience.”
