T20 World Cup, Afghanistan Defeated Scotland In A One-Sided Contest

In the Super 12 round of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021, Afghanistan defeated Scotland by a huge margin of 130 runs to take first place in the points table.

According to the details, Afghanistan won the toss and elected to bat first in the match played at Sharjah Cricket Ground. Hazratullah Zazai and Mohammad Shehzad gave their team a smoky start and laid the foundation for a big score. Zazai hit 30 balls. On 44 and Shehzad played an innings of 22 off 15 balls.

Rehmanullah Garbaz contributed 46 runs to the team’s score while Najibullah Zadran played a lightning fast innings of 59 runs and Mohammad Nabi scored 11 runs.

Afghanistan hit a total of 11 sixes in the innings.

For Scotland, Safyan Sharif was the leading bowler with 33 runs for the loss of two wickets.

In pursuit of the goal, the magic of Afghanistan’s spin attack worked which prevented one of the Scottish batsmen from running.

Mujeeb-ur-Rehman took 5 wickets for 20 runs while Rashid Khan at the other end took 4 wickets and played an important role in the team’s victory.

For Scotland, George Mance stood out with 25 runs while no other player was able to perform well.

With this victory, with two important points and a heavy run rate, the Afghan team has come to the first position in Group 2 of Super 12.

It should be noted that the Pakistan team that beat India yesterday is in second place due to its relatively low run rate.
