Justice Ali Baqir Najafi of Lahore High Court has said that the crescent symbol in the national flag is the light of knowledge and the star is the symbol of Panjtan Pak.
According to details, the Lahore High Court has issued a written decision on the petition against the reflection of the Pakistani flag on colorful flags, pajamas, and cartoon-like toys.
Justice Ali Baqir said that the publication of the flag in different colors definitely falls in the category of desecration, the reflection of the Pakistani flag on ugly cartoons also falls in the category of desecration.
He said that the publication of the national flag on the dress was against its honor, adding that the national flag was not just a piece of cloth.
Delivering the verdict, the Lahore High Court said that green and white is a symbol of peace and prosperity, white in the national flag highlights the importance of religious minorities, Pakistani flag, star, and crescent has a unique symbol and significance of the nation.
The verdict said that the roots of the national flag date back to the early days of Islam. The Holy Prophet Muhammad Mustafa (PBUH) gave the first flag of Islam to Hazrat Ali on the occasion of Ghazwa Badr, Khandaq, and Uhud. Also, high which is a sign of bravery.
Justice Ali Baqir said that the national flag means a symbol of freedom, equality, the Pakistani flag is a symbol of protection of the rights of the people and the integrity of the state, the national flag indicates a state in which all citizens are equal.
The Justice of the Lahore High Court said that Section 123B of the Pakistan Penal Code applies to the desecration of the Pakistani flag.
The Lahore High Court, while ruling, said that steps should be taken to prevent the Pakistani flag from touching the ground.
Justice Ali Baqir said that the Pakistani flag should not be hoisted even in the dark.
Justice Ali Baqir Najafi issued a written verdict on the application of Sedrah Sehar Advocate while the 7-page written verdict has also been termed as a judicial precedent.
