Virat Kohli Out Of Series Against New Zealand, Rohit Sharma Appointed Captain

Rohit Sharma has been named the T20 captain for the tour of New Zealand, while Virat Kohli has not been selected in the squad.

According to details, the Indian Cricket Board has announced the squad for the T20 series against New Zealand. However, the BCCI has appointed Rohit Sharma as the captain for the T20 series. Lokesh Rahul will be the vice-captain.

Virat Kohli, Mohammad Shami, Jaspreet Bamra and Ravindra Jadeja were left out of the squad for the series against New Zealand.

The announced squad includes Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, Roturaj Gaikwad, Shriyas Air, Surya Kumar Yadav, Rishbh Punt, Ishan Kishan, Venkatesh Air, Yazvindra Chahal, Ravi Chandran Ashwin, Akshar Patel, Owais Khan, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Deepak Chahar, Har. Patel and Muhammad Siraj.

It may be recalled that a series of 3 T20 and 2 Test matches is scheduled between India and New Zealand while the matches of the T20 series will be played on November 17, 19 and 21.

It should be noted that Virat Kohli had played his last match as captain in the T20 World Cup against Namibia yesterday, Kohli will now be available to the team as a player in T20.
