Zabihullah Congratulates Afghanistan Cricket Team On Victory

Taliban spokesman and Deputy Information Minister Zabihullah Mujahid has congratulated the Afghanistan cricket team on its victory.

“Congratulations to all our compatriots on the victory of the Afghan team in the T20 World Cup, we will have more successes in the future,” Taliban spokesman and Deputy Information Minister Zabihullah Mujahid said in a statement.

Earlier, in the Super 12 stage of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021, Afghanistan defeated Scotland by a huge margin of 130 runs and secured the first position in the points table.

Afghanistan won the toss and elected to bat first in the match played at Sharjah Cricket Ground.

Hazratullah Zazai and Mohammad Shehzad laid the foundation for a big score by giving their team a smoky start.

Zazai scored 44 off 30 balls and Shehzad scored 22 off 15 balls while Rehmanullah Garbaz contributed 46 runs while Najibullah Zadran scored 59 runs and Mohammad Nabi scored 11 runs. ۔

Afghanistan hit a total of 11 sixes in the innings, with Scotland’s Safyan Sharif striking out two for 33.

In pursuit of the goal, the magic of Afghanistan’s spin attack worked which prevented one of the Scottish batsmen from running.

Mujeeb-ur-Rehman took 5 wickets for 20 runs while Rashid Khan at the other end took 4 wickets and played an important role in the team’s victory.

For Scotland, George Mance stood out with 25 runs while no other player was able to perform well.

With this victory, with two important points and a heavy run rate, the Afghan team has come to the first position in Group 2 of Super 12.

It should be noted that the Pakistan team that beat India yesterday is in second place due to its relatively low run rate.
