Passport issuance made easier for applicants, big news arrives

Islamabad: The federal government has reinstated the old system of passport issuance, now passports will be available in 10 days with a normal fee instead of one month.

According to details, the federal government has issued instructions to reinstate the old system of passport issuance, ending the three-week delay in passport delivery time.

The Director-General of Immigration and Passport has issued an order to restore the delivery time for passports, under which passports will be delivered in 10 days with a normal fee instead of one month.

The order stated that with an urgent fee, delivery will be done in 4 days instead of 10, and through the fast track, delivery will be done in 2 days instead of 5.

It should be noted that there was a delay in passport delivery due to an increase in applications.

Earlier, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif had directed the concerned authorities to establish passport counters at National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) centers for the convenience of applicants.

The Prime Minister had said that this step would not only provide convenience to the general public but also reduce the burden on the national treasury.

He has instructed NADRA and the Directorate General of Immigration and Passport to collaborate and establish all newly approved passport offices as counters in NADRA centers.
