Islamabad: There is a possibility of electricity becoming expensive in Karachi, with a rate of 5 rupees and 65 paise per unit, which would burden Karachi consumers with 74 crore 70 lakh rupees.
According to the details, K-Electric has requested an increase in electricity prices, seeking monthly and quarterly adjustments.
For the monthly adjustment in April, a request for an increase of 48 paise per unit has been made, which, if approved, would burden Karachi consumers with 74 crore 70 lakh rupees.
K-Electric has also requested an increase of 5 rupees and 17 paise per unit for the quarterly adjustment from January to March.
The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority will listen to K-Electric’s requests on May 31st.
