“PPP leader suggests alliance with Jamaat-e-Islami to form Karachi mayor”

“The Jamaat-e-Islami has been given a mandate, let’s make a mayor together,” said Nasser Hussain Shah, a leader of the Pakistan People’s Party. He stated that PPP has a majority both ethically and numerically, and we should come together with Jamaat-e-Islami to make a mayor.

Speaking on ARY News program “Eleventh Hour,” Nasser Hussain Shah said that if a unanimous decision is made for the mayor of Karachi, it will benefit the city. He also expressed his desire to serve in the constituencies if they win in the municipal elections.

When asked about the alliance with the PTI, he said that there would be no attempt to break anyone’s supporters, but if someone supports a party, nothing can be done about it.

During the program, Amir Jamaat-e-Islami Hafiz Naeem-ul-Rehman said that he would meet with PTI friends tomorrow. He mentioned that there was a significant increase in the municipal elections in the recent by-elections, and there would be a discussion with the PPP regarding the issue of rigging in the recent elections.

He said that the doors of dialogue are always open, but they would not abandon their mandate. Saeed Ghani was clear that they are in contact with the winning candidates of other parties, and the mayor of Karachi would be from the Jamaat-e-Islami.
