Karachi/Peshawar: A new system of rain and thunderstorm is expected to enter the upper and western regions of the country in two days, as announced by the Meteorological Department.
According to the Meteorological Department, another western system will enter the upper and western regions of the country from 28th May, bringing expected rainfall and thunderstorm in various regions of Sindh, Balochistan, and Punjab.
Under the influence of the western system, there is a possibility of light to moderate rainfall and gusty winds in Jamshoro, Matiari, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Khairpur, Qamber Shahdadkot, Tando Allahyar, Mirpur Khas, Larkana, and Shikarpur.
On 28th May, Gaddu, Sanghar, Khairpur, Sukkur, Ghotki, Qamber Shahdadkot, and Kashmore may experience thunderstorms accompanied by heavy rainfall and hail at some places.
Strong winds and gusts can cause damage to weak structures and standing crops. Additionally, there is no possibility of rainfall in Karachi, and the weather will continue to be partially cloudy with a series of strong winds.
On the other hand, the Meteorological Department has stated that there is a possibility of a new series of rainfall starting from Sunday in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and the district administration has been directed to take precautionary measures in view of rainfall and thunderstorms.
In this regard, the PDMA (Provincial Disaster Management Authority) has instructed the district administration to ensure the availability of small heavy machinery and closely monitor the rainwater drains.
The PDMA message also advised providing advisory to tourists and local communities in the upper regions.
Tourists have been given instructions to adopt special precautionary measures during their travel, as the series of rainfall is expected to continue intermittently until 31st May.
