RIYADH: Several programs have been launched in different sectors to enhance the skills and abilities of Saudi citizens, with a recent announcement of a training program in event management for local citizens.
According to Urdu News, thousands of Saudi citizens will receive training in event management and security protocols through one of the key programs in the FIFA World Cup’s critical path.
In Qatar, the Lusail Stadium LLC has signed a memorandum of understanding with Saudi Excellence Company to provide services in the new academy. This agreement comes at a time when the Kingdom aims to diversify its economy and reduce dependence on oil revenue, as part of its Vision 2030 to promote its recreational and live events sector.
Lusail Stadium LLC provided training to almost 8,500 operators in Qatar for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, ensuring the safety of 3.4 million fans across eight venues during the tournament.
David Mikkelsen, the owner and founder of the stadium, said that this is an interesting agreement that will play a key role in promoting sports in Saudi Arabia.
He added that Saudi Arabia has a population of more than 35 million, with over two-thirds of them under the age of 35. The expansion of the security and event management industry and the creation of job opportunities will help unlock the country’s sports potential.
