Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has filed a petition for contempt of court against the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Islamabad for refusing to grant permission for a rally.

According to details, the PTI filed the petition for contempt of court in the Islamabad High Court against the DC for not allowing the rally.

The petition states that the rally was supposed to be held today to express one-sided views to the Chief Justice, but permission was not granted, which is a violation of the court order.

It should be noted that yesterday, Justice Babar Sattar of the Islamabad High Court had ordered the DC Islamabad to decide on the PTI’s rally request, but the permission was not granted.

PTI was not allowed to hold the rally in Islamabad Justice Babar Sattar had also said that the PTI’s request was based on fundamental rights, so a decision should be made according to the law. PTI’s position is that the DC Islamabad did not make a decision regarding the rally according to the law, which is why they have appealed to the Islamabad High Court.
