All foods are precious gifts of nature, and each group of foods contains different components that are essential for maintaining bodily functions. One of these vegetables is “pumpkin.”
Pumpkin was a favorite vegetable of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), and its usage has not only been a tradition but also has several medicinal benefits. It contains natural vitamins C, sodium, potassium, and iron, which provide strength to the body.
In our daily lives, we mostly use pumpkin as a food, but it has many other benefits as well. Here are a few remedies in which pumpkin is used as a medicine:
For Toothache
In case of a toothache, take half a teaspoon of pumpkin pulp and a clove of garlic. Boil them together in a glass of water until the pulp is half burnt. Then, rinse your mouth with this lukewarm water. Insha’Allah, it will provide relief from the pain.
Relief in Sore Throat
In the case of a hoarse voice or sore throat, gargle with lukewarm water containing pumpkin. This remedy also provides relief in conditions like sore throat.
Protection from Insects
To protect something from insects, place pumpkin leaves on it. The insects will not sit on it. Even if pumpkin leaves are placed on infants during the daytime, they will remain protected from insects.
Helpful in Jaundice
Take a ripe pumpkin, burn it in a mild fire, and make it ash. Mix a little sugar in the ash and consume it. It is very beneficial for jaundice.
If someone in your house gets bitten by a scorpion, and it becomes difficult to immediately reach a doctor, you can provide immediate medical assistance using pumpkin pulp. Apply the pulp properly on the affected area and make the person consume its water. The effect of the poison will be eliminated.
Relief from Constipation
Patients suffering from chronic constipation can also benefit from pumpkin. The use of pumpkin helps in relieving constipation and aids in the recovery from the disease.
