The bill for reconsideration of Supreme Court’s decisions and orders has been passed by the Senate. Opposition members protested vehemently and encircled the Chairperson, Daes.

According to News, the Senate session was chaired by the Chairman, Sadiq Sanjrani, in which the bill for reconsideration of Supreme Court’s decisions and orders was approved. In the voting, 32 votes were cast in favor of the motion, while 21 were cast against it. At this point, opposition members protested vehemently and encircled the Chairperson, Daes. Opposition members chanted slogans against the fake bill and the imported government.

Senator Shehzad Waseem of PTI addressed the Senate Chairman, saying that this is nonsense and their imposition will not work, to which the Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani said, “Let me take the bill and then send it to the committee.”

Law Minister Senator Farogh Naseem, while endorsing the bill, said that this is a legislative process. Reconsideration is a power provided under Article 188 to redress injustice against the people.

Under the law of Parliament, the Supreme Court will have the power of reconsideration. When this private bill came to the National Assembly, the government did not oppose it and in the Senate, the government did not oppose the bill. The PTI should stop their protest, otherwise this bill will be passed.
