“Treasury Department Objects Request for 1 Billion Rupees for Sewage Pipe Cleaning in Karachi”

In Karachi, a request for 1 billion rupees was made for the cleaning of sewage pipes, but the treasury department objected and returned the proposal.

According to details, the Municipal Department of Sindh requested 1 billion rupees from the government for the cleaning of sewage pipes.

However, the treasury department objected to the proposal, citing that the budgets for the MC and DMCs had already been increased by 15% and 630 million rupees were allocated for the cleaning of sewage pipes last year.

The treasury department stated that 1.5 billion rupees had already been allocated for road repairs and construction and the MC and DMCs can clean the pipes with their own resources.

The treasury department objected to the proposal for 1 billion rupees from the Municipal Department and returned it, citing financial difficulties and the potential for further difficulties if an additional 1 billion was allocated.
