“We have only 9 members for the Mayor of Karachi, Saeed Ghani’s confession.

Karachi: Provincial Minister Saeed Ghani confessed that if the members of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Jamaat-e-Islami join hands for the Mayor of Karachi, then we have only 9 members.

According to details, while addressing a press conference in Karachi, Saeed Ghani, the leader of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), said that no request for support has been made by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) since the elections. He stated that an agreement had already been reached among the PTI members not to vote for Jamaat-e-Islami.

Saeed Ghani said, ‘It is being said that PTI members are being arrested to prevent them from voting. It cannot happen that if they want to vote, they should not be arrested after the May 9 incident. I fundamentally believe that if they are in jail, they should be brought to vote.’

The Minister of Labor said that most PTI members themselves do not want to vote for Jamaat-e-Islami. They had said that if there is a need to solve Karachi’s problems, the PPP Mayor would be better.

He said, ‘Jamaat-e-Islami was saying that the constituencies were also created by the People’s Party. Constituency delimitation has always been the job of governments. A law was passed in 2013, and under it, the government had to carry out constituency delimitation. However, the court said that constituency delimitation is not the government’s job but the Election Commission’s.’

Saeed Ghani said, ‘Even if we consider Hafiz Naeem’s argument, the People’s Party also carried out constituency delimitation in 2015, but we did not win at that time. MQM’s Mayor was elected. The constituency delimitation that has been done this time was done by the Election Commission, not us.’

He said, ‘We still want to sit with Jamaat-e-Islami and move forward. If Jamaat-e-Islami gets a majority in the Mayor’s election, they should become the Mayor. If they don’t get the votes, then accept the results openly.'”
