Islamabad: Minister of State Dr. Aisha Ghaus Pasha has stated that we have paid the political cost while staying in the IMF program, and we are making every effort to reach an agreement with the IMF.
According to the details, Minister of State Dr. Aisha Ghaus Pasha, while speaking to the media, said that we are in contact with the IMF, we want to continue the program, and we are moving forward to complete it.
Aisha Ghaus Pasha stated that we have paid the political cost while staying in the IMF program, and it is our full effort to reach an agreement with the IMF.
Regarding the budget, the Minister of State said that the budget preparation is underway, and we are finalizing the budget numbers. The budget will be presented in the first week of June.
She said that it is necessary to increase taxes in the country’s interest. Until the tax-to-GDP ratio does not reach double digits, the situation will remain challenging.
Dr. Aisha Ghaus Pasha further said that controlling smuggling will lead to an increase in tax revenue. Work is being done at the policy level in this regard. Gaining control over the budget deficit will be a big relief for the people.
The Minister of State said that even in difficult economic situations, we will make every effort to provide relief to the people.
