Lahore: Najam Sethi, the Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Management Committee, has said that the national team will play the 2023 World Cup under the captaincy of Babar Azam.
In a recent interview, the head of the PCB management committee, Najam Sethi, said that Babar Azam’s performance as captain against New Zealand was reassuring, and a review of his performance as captain will only be conducted after the World Cup.
Najam Sethi said that there will be a process of review after every series, but there is no immediate threat to Babar’s captaincy.
He made it clear that we will play the World Cup under Babar Azam’s leadership and then see and evaluate his performance, advising Babar Azam to focus on his performance.
Earlier, former captain and head coach of the national team, Misbah-ul-Haq, had also expressed confidence in Babar Azam’s captaincy, saying that he has the ability to break all records.
