The calculator handles leap years correctly — February 29 is counted in leap years — and reports the result in both days and weeks. For example, the difference between 1 January and 31 December in a non-leap year is 364 days, not 365, because the day count excludes the start date; the tool's instant result removes any ambiguity.

A common point of confusion is whether to count the start day. This calculator counts the number of full 24-hour days between the dates, which is the convention used for most financial and contractual calculations. If you need to count both the start and end day (as in 'from Monday to Friday inclusive'), add one to the result.
