Zakat is one of the five pillars of Islam and a fixed obligation: 2.5% of qualifying wealth held above the nisab for a full lunar year. This Fitrana Calculator calculates the zakat due on your savings, gold, silver and business assets so you can fulfil the obligation accurately.

The nisab threshold in Pakistan is commonly set at 87.48 grams of gold or 612.36 grams of silver. If your qualifying wealth is above the threshold and has been for a full Hijri year, zakat at 2.5% is due on the whole amount.

Zakatable assets include cash and bank balances, gold and silver, business inventory and trade goods, and investments. Your personal home, car, household furniture and clothing are not zakatable.

Many Pakistanis pay zakat during Ramadan, but it is due whenever your wealth completes a lunar year above nisab. Use this calculator at least yearly — when bank balances and gold prices change, the amount due changes with them.
