About the K-Electric Bill Calculator
Pakistan's electricity tariffs are slab-based: the first units you consume are priced lower, and the rate rises with each subsequent slab. This K-Electric Bill Calculator calculates your bill by applying the correct per-unit rate to each slab of your usage, matching the method NEPRA-approved tariffs use.
The result is a transparent breakdown — units consumed, slab boundaries crossed, the rate in your top slab and the total bill — so you can see exactly where your money goes and how much you could save by trimming usage in the most expensive slab.
Tariffs differ between protected and non-protected consumers, and the calculator lets you switch between them. Understanding your consumer category and the slab structure is the first step to a lower bill: shifting even 50 units out of the highest slab can save real money every month.
Electricity prices are revised periodically by the government and NEPRA, and this tool's rates are editable inputs so you can keep it accurate. Use the result as a planning estimate and verify with your actual bill, which includes fixed charges and taxes beyond the energy charge.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a protected consumer?
Protected consumers use up to 200 units a month and get subsidized rates (about Rs 13.48/unit for the first 100). Above 200 units, consumers are classified as non-protected and pay full rates.
Why is my actual bill different?
NEPRA revises tariffs quarterly and DISCOs add line losses and other pass-through adjustments. Use this as an estimate and verify against your DISCO's tariff notification.
Does this apply to K-Electric?
All DISCOs (including K-Electric) follow the same national NEPRA tariff structure, with minor differences in fixed charges and pass-through adjustments.
How are electricity slabs structured in Pakistan?
Under NEPRA-approved tariffs, the per-unit rate rises with consumption — for example, the first 100 units cost the least and each subsequent band costs more. Your bill applies each band's rate to the units within it.
What is the difference between protected and non-protected consumers?
Protected consumers are those with lower monthly usage who receive subsidised slab rates; non-protected consumers (higher usage) pay higher per-unit rates. The calculator lets you switch between the two.
Why is my bill higher than this calculation?
Actual bills add fixed charges, taxes and surcharges on top of the energy charge. This tool estimates the energy charge portion; your bill's breakdown page shows the additional line items.
