Ali Banisadr

Ali Banisadr, born in 1976 in Tehran, Iran, is an internationally acclaimed contemporary artist whose work bridges Eastern and Western artistic traditions. Growing up during the Iran-Iraq War, Banisadr's early experiences of conflict and displacement profoundly influenced his artistic vision. He moved to the United States as a child and studied at the School of Visual Arts and Yale University School of Art. Banisadr's paintings are characterized by dense, layered compositions that blend figurative and abstract elements, often inspired by Persian miniatures, Iranian calligraphy, and Western art movements. His work has been exhibited in major museums and galleries worldwide, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Brooklyn Museum.
