Alia Bhatt

Alia Bhatt (born 15 March 1993) is a British actress of Indian descent who works in Hindi cinema. She is one of the most popular and highest-paid actresses in India. The daughter of filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt and actress Soni Razdan, she has been acting since childhood and has established herself as one of the most talented actresses of her generation. Born in London, Bhatt made her debut as a lead actress in "Student of the Year" (2012) at age 19. She quickly proved her acting prowess with performances in "Highway" (2014), "2 States" (2014), "Udta Punjab" (2016), "Badrinath Ki Dulhania" (2017), and "Raazi" (2018). Bhatt's most acclaimed performance came in "Gangubai Kathiawadi" (2022), directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, where she portrayed a real-life sex worker who became a powerful figure in Mumbai's Kamathipura. The film won her the National Film Award for Best Actress and multiple Filmfare Awards. She also starred in "RRR" (2022), one of the highest-grossing Indian films, and "Brahmastra" (2022). In 2024, she married actor Ranbir Kapoor (they had a daughter named Raha in 2022) and starred in "Jigra," which she also produced through her production company Eternal Sunshine Productions. She was awarded the Padma Shri in 2024 at age 30, making her one of the youngest recipients.
