Tillakaratne Dilshan

Tillakaratne Dilshan, born on October 14, 1976, in Kalutara, Sri Lanka, is a former Sri Lankan cricketer famous for inventing the 'Dilscoop' — a revolutionary cricket shot played over the wicketkeeper's head. He played 90 Tests and 330 ODIs for Sri Lanka, scoring over 10,000 ODI runs. Dilshan was an aggressive opening batsman known for his explosive batting, particularly in T20 cricket where he was the leading run-scorer at the 2009 T20 World Cup. He was the Man of the Tournament at the 2011 Cricket World Cup. Dilshan also bowled useful off-spin and was an excellent fielder. After retirement, he has been involved in cricket coaching and development programs in Sri Lanka. He also runs a charitable foundation supporting underprivileged children.
