Golshifteh Farahani

Golshifteh Farahani, born on July 10, 1983, in Tehran, Iran, is an internationally acclaimed Iranian-French actress who has built a successful career in both Iranian and international cinema. The daughter of veteran actor Behzad Farahani and sister to actress Shaghayegh Farahani, Golshifteh was destined for the arts. She gained early fame in Iran with her role in 'About Elly' (2009) by Asghar Farhadi. After moving to France, she appeared in Hollywood films including 'Body of Lies' (2008) with Leonardo DiCaprio, 'Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales' (2017), and numerous European productions. Farahani's beauty, talent, and multilingual abilities (she speaks Persian, French, English, and Italian) have made her one of the most recognizable Iranian artists worldwide. She has been honored at the Cannes Film Festival and continues to work in international cinema while maintaining her Iranian identity.
