Marriyum Aurangzeb

Marriyum Aurangzeb is a Pakistani politician of the PML-N who has served as the Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting. She is one of the most prominent female politicians in the ruling party and a senior member of its leadership team.

Political career

Marriyum was first elected to the National Assembly in 2013 from Lahore, and has served in several roles, including as a minister of state and as the PML-N's information secretary. She was appointed Minister for Information and Broadcasting in 2022 and again in 2024, making her the government's chief spokesperson. She has also held the portfolio of Minister for National Heritage and Culture.

She is known for her combative media appearances and for leading the government's communications strategy, defending the coalition's record in Parliament and on television. She has been a vocal advocate for women's political participation within her party.

Legacy

Marriyum Aurangzeb is regarded as one of the most effective communicators in the current government, and she represents the rising generation of female leadership within the PML-N.
