Mushfiqur Rahim

Mushfiqur Rahim (born 1 June 1987) is a Bangladeshi cricketer who has served as the team's captain and is one of the most experienced players in Bangladeshi cricket history. A right-handed batsman and wicketkeeper, he has been a key figure in Bangladesh's rise in international cricket. Born in Bogra, Mushfiqur made his international debut in 2005 and has played over 400 international matches across formats. He was the first Bangladeshi wicketkeeper to score a Test century and has scored over 7,000 runs in ODIs and over 4,000 in Tests. Mushfiqur was captain of Bangladesh during a critical period (2011-2014) and led the team to several important victories. He has been known for his fighting spirit, often performing under pressure in crucial matches. He announced his retirement from Test cricket in 2024, finishing as one of Bangladesh's most capped and highest-scoring players. He continues to play in ODIs and T20Is.
