Ahsanullah Master

Ahsanullah Master (1944 – 27 April 2004) was a Bangladeshi politician and educationist who was assassinated in 2004. He was a member of the Awami League and a member of parliament from the Tongi constituency. He was known for his dedication to education and community service. Born in Tongi, Gazipur district, Master was a school teacher who entered politics through the Awami League. He won the parliamentary seat from Tongi in 2001 and became known for his grassroots activism and commitment to education. He established schools and educational institutions in his constituency. On April 27, 2004, Master was shot dead by unidentified assailants at a public gathering in Tongi. His assassination was a politically motivated crime that shocked the nation. He was posthumously awarded the Bangladesh Freedom Award for his sacrifice.
